For those familiar with the film Eyes Wide Shut, and the type of content that is distributed through much of Hotline, the name should seem appropriate.

A popular intrusion detection system, it is designed to protect the integrity of system files against unauthorised modification by crackers. The application essentially creates a snapshot of a configured system, logs changes to files and audits them for their security impact. Administrators are alerted through email and the changes may either be accepted or denied. This is the most popular tool of its kind and has recently been released under the Open-Source LGPL license.
